Songdo, Gamcheon, Songjeong, Busan

I took a solo trip to Busan. I stayed at Songjeong Beach on a recommendation, and caught up with an old coworker, did some hiking and exploring, and revisited a few places.

DAY 1 OF 3-DAY TRIP to Busan

After getting to Busan Station by KTX, I stored my suitcase in the lockers and got a bus to Songdo Beach (송도) and grabbed a quick lunch at A Walk in the Clouds, a beachfront bar and restaurant; I think they were surprised to see someone so early! I visited Songdo Beach back in 2019 with Romana, but we didn’t take the cable car. I wandered along the beach a little way and took in the nice clear skies and sea; very pleasant!

This time I was going to take the cable car across the water to the peninsular to the west. It was a fun ride and I could see there were walkways along to coast I could hopefully use to walk back to Songdo. Coming in, I could see some seafood places that Romana might be interested in on future trips.

There a bridge to a little rock island just below the cable car station (Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge) and a park by the station. You can also follow trails in the hills further west for a nice easy hike which I did for a short time.

Unfortunately the coastal walking trail was closed so I had to take a bus. I wanted to revisit Gamcheon as I was getting hungry and just fancied seeing it again! There were covid restictions in place at the entrance to the village. It was much like I remembered and busier than I’d expected. I was hoping to visit The Plate, the British themed restaurant from my last trip, but alas it was closed. Instead, I grabbed a coffee at FARO COFFEE which had with a terrace. I sat determinedly in the the howling wind! Anyway, good views!

Next, I collected my bag and got on the bus and subway to Songjeong Beach Olla hotel, washed up then headed back to central Busan to meet Ryan for pizza and beers at SOL Tap House (솔탭하우스 서면삼정타워점). Good catch up, then a taxi to the hotel.
