Seongjeong Beach, Haeundae Blueline Park train Busan

I took a solo trip to Busan. I stayed at Songjeong Beach on a recommendation, caught up with an old coworker, did some hiking and exploring, and revisited a few places.

DAY 3 OF 3-DAY TRIP to Busan
Breakfast then a wander

The sunrise view at about 7 am from my hotel room was pretty nice. I was staying at the Olla Songjeong Hotel. I got to the Surfholic surf school at about 10:30; there’s a second floor terrace and bar / restaurant. I ordered bacon and eggs croissant with a good tasting coffee, then sat on the terrace and watched the November surfers (I’d do the same in December with Romana, except we would sit inside!).

After breakfast, I wandered north up the beach to a small harbour and park. There were two lighthouses and cat. On the way back, I saw a bulldozer moving the sand around. I also snapped a few photos of the many coffee and snack trucks parked along the beach; I guess tis is what all the surfers eat in the summer.

Haeundae Blueline Train

I collected my suitcase and check out, then walked to the Haeundae Blueline Park train station; this is the tourist train that runs from near Haeundae Beach to Songjeong Beach. It was about 7,000 or 12,000 won; check the website for details. All the seats face towards the coast for a sea view all the way.

Once at the destination, you walk a few minutes to Haeundae Beach.

Haeundae Beach

This is the main Busan beach and of course the winter and summer vibes are very different. At the north end is the massive building with an observation deck. However it was about 27,000 won to go up so I decided not to; save it for a night date.

Along the beach were people chilling and playing games. Along the promenade are tons of bars and restaurants; I didn’t stop but snapped a picture of Sam Ryan’s pub, a Seoul staple that’s mad it’s way to Busan. I walked all the way to the south end of the beach, then inland to the nearest subway stop. Then it was an easy ride to Busan Station to catch the KTX back to Seoul.

A nice few days in Busan; will definitely do it again!
