DAY 4 OF OUR 5-DAY, END OF SUMMER ROAD-TRIP
On our first full day, Romana and I drove around to the east side of Gyeryongsan to head to some cooling mountain streams, explore a temple school, and eat spicy chicken soup at an awesome stream-side restaurant. It was a longer drive than expected (just the other side of the mountain, right…?). There was plenty of space at the car park, but it was also quite busy.
Walking up the stream gave us plenty of opportunities to wade in and cool down. This was possible for a huge length of the trail up the stream. There were also lots of restaurants for us to try on the way back.
The temple is apparently a school or training temple and looked quite lush with lots of greenery and the mountain as a backdrop.
On the way back from the temple, had spicy chicken soup by the stream which I write about in another post.
After that, we headed back up the stream a bit to paddle more, rest and sober up! Again, very pleasant! It started to rain but it wasn’t enough to dampen our fun. I think I managed to take a short nap. Back near the car park, we had a quick coffe before our drive back to holiday place and another BBQ!
Donghaksa (temple) – 동학사, which in on the same trail as some of the rocky streams you can bathe and chill out in:
