Exploring charming Split, Croatia

My parents and me stayed a few days in the old part of Split. The first night was spent checking with the Airbnb host (friendly lady), having a quick wander around then eating at a place opposite the apartment. The Airbnb apartment was nice, on the second floor with big lounge and kitchen, and two good bedroom above and a little terrace.

The next day, we did some more exploring. The town is lovely, all made from stone, narrow streets with places to eat, drink and shop for…stuff. Charming really (and I hardly ever use that word!). My iPhone really didn’t do it any justice at all unfortunately!

I came across a petrol powered Giant mountain bike. Didn’t get to see it ridden though.

Mum and I decided to walk to the nearest beach at At Bay Bacvice, which was a bit of a trek past the harbour. We got there eventually then walked a little more along the coast. Kevin joined us later and we ate a nice lunch before they had a dip in the lovely sea. I just stood by and tried not to burn. The sun was super hot the whole trip.

Back in Split, we stopped by Caffe Teak for a drink before heading back to the flat for a pre-dinner rest. See the map below.

We headed out again after dark. Having dinner on the last night in narrow stone streets was a pretty decent experience. We were at a restaurant that served modern, Croatian cuisine; I had to take their word for it. The place was called Mazzgoon and the food was excellent. The street was narrow, with awesome old stone features running up and down and over it.
