A day in Dubrovnik Old Town, Croatia

Before we started our sailing adventure, my mum, dad and I spent a day exploring the Old Town of Dubrovnik. Yes, King’s Landing.

We had dinner in the Old Town the night after getting to our Airbnb house (shared room!). I was struck at just how properold this place was, as well as being clean and well maintained. They seem to be really taking care of this asset.

The next day was perfect; bright and hot and because we left early, not too crowded.

The highlight for me was walking the the city wall as this offered the best views of the town, the sea and the hills behind the city. It took a while and there were cafes and ice cream stops along the way. Quite spectacular really.

After the the walk, we went to Bistro Revelin for a beer overlooking a habour, before heading off to Banje Beach, a crowded place run by a restaurant and bar, so we didn’t stay and headed back to the town for a final wander.

A bit later on, we grabbed a beer at Beer Factory, a cool pub in the middle of town with a nice back yard (map below). They had a range of local Pilsner, so nothing to complain about ;o)

There were lots of starlings or swallows(?) swooping around all day and evening in Croatia. It made a nice change from pigeons! A short video:
