Trout and Ulsanbawi

My parents visited me and Romana in Korea for three weeks. Here are a some of our days and evenings out and about.

DAYs 11 OF my parents’ 3-week TRIP to Korea

We took an early bus from the apartment, then a packed subway to one of the main intercity bus terminals in Seoul. Then we got on a mega-comfy limousine bus across to Sokcho on the east coast. Along the way, we stopped off at a motorway services with great views into the valleys. We picked up out rental car then drove to a trout farm restaurant for some trout sushi and deep fried trout scampi: Baekdam Waterfall Trout Restaurant 백담폭포송어회.

OUr next stop was a tourist resort to get some coffee at a place (The Ambrosia cafe 소노펠리체 델피노 더엠브로시아) that looks onto the awesome Ulsan Bawi rocks of Seoraksan mountain. It an impressive sight and something I went up a few months later.

Next, we drove to our accommodation, a set of white wooden houses which looked onto some greener hills and a smaller Ulsan Bawi in the distance. This was the first time I’d booked a place using the Naver maps pension booking system. It was a really cool place and my parents and I had rooms next to each other with balconies on the 1st floor (in UK), or 2nd floor (in Korea).

After a short rest,m we drove to Sokcho and Yeongnangho Lake to an Italian restaurant called Il Lago. Back home, we played Yahtzee before bed.
