Naksan & Sokcho Beach & crab! Korea

Day 1 of our 3-day road trip

After getting checked into White House guesthouse, we headed to some beaches. First Naksan, then Sokcho, to revisit a crab restaurant we went to last year.

The beach wasn’t crowded but there was a lot of vegetation from the sea piled onto the sand; I imagine a truck had been collecting it all in preparation for the summer hoards! We stopped for a coffee shop I’d been to a while back on another trip here alone., but unfortunately the peaceful serenity of the lovely beach side terrace was ruined by a loud drunk person arguing with his friends…

Onto the beach then! The sand and sun were perfect and we strolled, took photos and relaxed.

Getting hungry again, we decided to revisit the crab restaurant we’d found last year since it seemed great value. We drove up to Sokcho beach where there was quite a lot going on; groups of friends on pension trips, firing off fireworks and generally having a nice time by the water. The crab restaurant was good again and we silently stuffed our faces! Before getting beers and heading back to our accommodation.
