Mackerel sashimi at Seogwipo market & Cafe Antoinette revisited, Jeju

The market

Brunch by the sea, then sashimi in the evening. This was a winter trip in two parts; a solo three days, then an additional four days with Romana. This is day one of part two! Our first stop (was my last stop of part one) Cafe Antoinette, a trip to Udo (우도), and some sashimi at Seogwipo market.

Day 4 of 7 winter days on Jeju

For this trip, I rented a Kia Soul for the first time. I liked it; bulkier than the Morning or (of course) the Ray, but reasonably priced and I liked the more powerful engine (alright, Clarkson…).

We started with a breakfast of banana french toast, and avocado and salmon sandwich at Antoinette (my second trip). We had a seat near the window since we were first in, and thoroughly enjoyed the food and view.

Our next stop was Udo, an island off the east coast of Jeju.

After Udo and getting settled at the hotel (I booked again at HY Choi Hostel), we went to the Seogwipo Everyday Olle Market in search of mackerel sashimi, not that easy to get in Seoul on account that it needs to be super fresh. Romana found us a place (name to follow!) that gave us a good deal on mackerel and another fish (yellow tail?). We stuck with our usual fish booze of Cheongha (청하).

Before getting to the hostel, we bought some supplies (beers and breakfast) at the local 7-Eleven and got an early night.
