A Saturday date night in Yeonnam-dong, near Hongdae! L’impasse81. specialises in sausage and salami with other European dishes, specifically French charcuterie and bouchon. It’s in a modern building in a recently redeveloped area; a disused railway line converted into a park Gyeonguiseon Forest Road (경의선숲길).

The interior is cosy and has a split level dining area which makes you think there are lots of nooks and crannies to explore. We ordered sausage and pasta dishes with a bottle of rose. The sausages are European style, herby and flavourful; they have a range but you can only eat so much, right? My pasta dish looks very simple but the pasta had a lovely smoky flavour. Romana’s bolognaise had a really good texture and was delicious.
