This is the Bukhansan Mountain & Gangbuk-gu part of the trail and is 7.1km. Below is the link to the route on Naver Maps:

Today, I started after lunchtime again; just not getting into this winter weather! The trail starts at Bukhansan Ui Station on the light green, driverless line called the Uisinseol Line. I was walking counter-clockwise.
I took a detour to the 4.19 Student Revolution Memorial Tower, park and cemetery. It’s a piece of history connected to Korea’s journey (battle) towards democracy. This particular event is know as the April Revolution (link to Wikipedia). It seems particularly relevant today just a week after the Korean president’s attempt to impose martial law (The vote to start impeachment proceedings carried on December 14).
After the cemetery, light snow was falling, so I stopped at Caffe-In for a latte and sandwich. Note, it’s not on the Seoul Trail, but on the same road as the 4.19 Memorial and on the way back to the trail.
The trail is mainly forest, Fortunately the snow didn’t fall too heavily, basically a light dusting of icing sugar!
The trail ends at Hwagyesa Temple and from there, it’s an easy walk to Hwagye Station on the Uisinseol Line. The temple photos here are from a hike I did in March 2023 on the Bukhansan Dullegil that follows the route as the Bukhansan sections of the Seoul Trail.
