Romana and I spent a half day relaxing in Yongchu Valley, eating and wading in the streams. We had some locally .
I was impressed with the stream on my trip to Yeoninsan earlier, I wanted to share it with Romana! I rented a SOCAR and we drove for over an hour, getting to the streams around 10:30. We grabbed our camping chairs and picnic bag and found a quiet spot to set up. It was shaded by trees and we could put the chairs in a shallow spot.
We strolled up the road to the pavilion and the pool I had picnicked at a few weeks earlier, before heading back to our chosen spot. We unpacked our food and spent the next few hours enjoying the peace of the stream.
We left when we were getting hungrier than our picnic supplies were providing, so we set off, dropping by Yongchu Waterfalls (Gugok) (용추폭포 용추구곡), a set of nine waterfalls which you can view from the roadside.
Vegetable wraps
Romana searched for a suitable lunch spot and we drove to Choi Ga Nae Uryeong Sambap (최가네우렁쌈밥) for some locally grown vegetables and homemade soup.
On the way back to Seoul, we dropped by Bakery Theater (), a place I’ve been to a few times alone after various hikes in the area. We had some sweet cold drinks and sat in the garden looking at the peaceful Bukhangang (북한강).
