My parents visited me and Romana in Korea for three weeks. Here are a some of our days and evenings out and about.
DAYs 1 to 4 OF my parents’ 3-week TRIP to Korea
On our first evening we went to Tenjo, an izakaya near our house. We had sake, beer, and some Japanese pub food. The evening after, we ate Korean pancakes (jeon) made and delivered by my mother-in-law; delicious. On Sunday, we had a lovely drip coffee at Seonhyu coffee shop with some traditional Korean sweets before Kevin got himself a Korean haircut. Later, we had a big family gettogether at a big restaurant, courtesy again of my mother-in-law. It was a dinner of many courses including lots of sashimi in atmospheric dry ice! The nieces gave Mum some flowers.
Geoje Day 1
We left early on Monday to catch the KTX to Busan, pick up a rental car, then drive to Goeje and Tongyeong for five days. We stopped off just before the the big Geoje bridge-tunnel for some lunch on the terrace.
We then drove to our James Bond villain style accommodation (Tropical Dream Spa Resort), a concrete building near Mangchi Mongdol Beach (망치몽돌해수욕장). I wandered around a bit trying to find a suitable place for dinner and discovered an outdoor barbeque place virtually next door to our pension.
After my parents had rested, we went out for barbequed meat, beer and wine at Mangchi Gui Madang (망치구이마당).The grounds were very nice with a boaty theme; I’m guessing someone in the family sailed or was a fisher. And there was a whole team of small cute dogs. Back at our accommodation, we had a beer or two then it was time for bed.
