This was an unplanned stop at Orena Ramen (오렌노라멘), which turned out to be listed in the Michelin Guide recommended places of Seoul.
You order via machine before taking a table. There were fouur dishes on offer, not including my usual go to tonkatsu ramen; time for something different. I chose the first on the list toripaitan (토리빠이탄) with chicken broth. There were two chefs on hand and they whipped up the broth to a white frothy texture on top. There were chunks of chicken and an egg. The egg yolk was not too loose and darkish yellow. Everything tasted good!
Oreno Ramen along Bulgwangcheon Stream in the north west part of Seoul, where I’ve recently moved to. It’s a nice street, hopefully nicer in the non-winter months. Near the restaurant is a (closed for now) mini library. Just down from there some local residents have put a buunch of random chairs; office chairs, dining chairs) and tied them to the hand rails to stop people wandering off with them. I guess this is a communal spot for chatting or just reading near the library.
There’s a river-side path and cycle path to the Han River, so definitely a street I’ll keep coming back to.
