We started again with our donuts, rice and coffee at the hostel kitchen then set off to explore a cedar forest, pampas grass hills, magnolias, and eat local rice dishes. This post is the first half of the day. This was a winter trip in two parts; a solo three days, then four days with Romana.
Day 6 of 7 winter days on Jeju
Our first stop was Saryeoni Forest (사려니숲길, a cedar forest I visited in 2019), a beautiful, peaceful place; ㅈe had a walk and took lots of photos in the serene atmosphere.
Our next stop was Sangeumburi (산금부리 – I visited in 2019). There are fields of pampas grass on a hillside overlooking a crater of a volcanic vent. There are lovely views looking back to Hallasan mountain; another beautiful place.
On our way to lunch, we dropped by a farm that had magnolia trees, a stag and other animals; we didn’t stay too ling because there wasn’t much to do… I’ll upload the name later!
Romana chose our lunch spot, Myeongmun Restaurant(?) (명문사거리식당), a small village restaurant specialising in soups. I had momguk (몸국) a beef soup that had the flavour of haejangguk; very tasty. Romana had something with water snails in (I don’t recall the name-honey?!).
We did quite a lot and had more to do, so please read the following post!
