Set off early for final riding day on the Shimanami Kaido path. Had a home-made bagel for breakfast then a glorious ride over three more islands before getting to #imabari. Lots of coast and bridges and a few sections inland. Had a great local style okonomiyaki on one of the islands. This trip gets a double thumbs up for me; next time I’ll ride it the opposite direction and stay on a different island in the middle. The next day will be spent milling around #matsuyama. #shimanamikaido #ikuchi #omishima #hakata #oshima

Lemons are a big deal around #hiroshima I had lemon chicken and lemon pork on rice, plus lemon beer (tasted like a radler though labelled ‘Lemon Ale’). Had coffees, teas, then sunset at Sunset Beach, and some decent stargazing after dinner. More of day two of my Shimanami Kaido trip milling around Setoda. Tomorrow I’ll set off early to #imabari.

Another stroll, this time a 14 km round trip hike up the southern #Donnaeko trail of #hallasan. This takes you to the southern wall of the crater. There are vast plains of rocky grasslands past the tree line, and views down to the southern sea and #seogwipo town. This was the last trail on Hallasan mountain that I hadn’t done, so congratulations to me.
