My parents visited me and Romana in Korea for three weeks. Here are a some of our days and evenings out and about.
DAY 5 OF my parents’ 3-week TRIP to Korea
Before my parents woke, I wandered around the house a little. I took more photos of the impressive tree nearby and of the yacht that was formed the sign for the restaurant we went to last night; Blue Pitta was the boat name!
We had breakfast at a coffee shop across the street from our accommodation called Masso Mare (마소마레). It was beautifully located and had lots of shady outdoor seating plus a good range of breakfast pastries; nice!
We drove to the harbour to get the ferry to our next stop, Oedo Botania (외도 보타니아). This is a garden island. The ferries go from a few harbours around Geoje, and they seem to only be ferry and island entry tickets combined. On the way to Oedo, the boat takes you to some rocky islets a bit further out. These were quite spectacular, especially at the ferry was trying to get as close as possible to the crevices! After that, we headed to Oedo.
The island has many paths up and through the hilly landscape, each part slightly themed. It was a beautifully landscaped space, somewhat in a European style. We were there for a few hours I think and finished up with a nice cold brew coffee before heading back to the ferry.
Once at our accommodation, I took the car to downtown Geoje to collect Romana who’d just arrived by bus. We drove back, rested, then headed out to a place serving grilled fish called Gombaoo (곰바우생선구이).
Back at the pension, we played a few games of Yahtzee before bed.
