Munjiri 535 Cafe (문지리535카페) is what I call a mega-cafe; three large floors with big windows, and masses of seating! It also has a large indoor garden full of huge dark green leafy plants. There’s also a terrace out front for cooler days; it was about 33 degrees C when were were there, so we planted ourselves inside.
Romana and I drove there as busses from Seoul take a long time. Even on a Monday, the cafe was pretty busy so we were glad to have arrived by 11:30. We got a sofa seat on the top floor by the huge windows. The views are mainly green fields of rice, then some forested hills in the distance. Beyond that, of course, is North Korea, over the Imjingang River.
We got coffees and some pretty hefty brunch-sized croissants and sat reading, relaxing and enjoying the view. We stayed quite a while before heading out to lunch. Before leaving, we wandered around the indoor garden.
